Description
MK Knives & Tools Rambler “Postapo Mars Valley” knife is designed for hiking and nature exploration. Its size (260 mm total length | 10.24″) makes it suitable for heavy-duty tasks like woodwork and batoning, while its 131 mm blade (5.16″) is versatile enough for finer camp chores like meal preparation.
*The presented knife has a blade made of extremely durable Vanadis 23 steel with excellent hardness (61-62 HRC), coated with a black DLC coating. The blade has a so-called double grind (DG), combining a groove grind in the central part with a flat grind in the rest. The blade near the spine is decorated with a double-sided fuller, reducing the weight of the blade.
**The handle scales are made of exclusive Mars Valley FatCarbon G10 with black liners. The nuances on the blade, the colors of the handle and the pictograms on the holster are characteristic of the “Postapo” series. The knife comes with black Holstex holster (carbon pattern) with color additions.
“Postapo” Series – Inspiration Matters
“Postapo” is a series inspired by books, TV shows, movies, and the post-apocalyptic world in general. The “Postapo” series stands out with pictograms in the form of a ‘radiation’ symbol, motivating vigilance and preparedness, as well as a ‘skull in a gas mask’ motif. The skull symbolizing the fleeting nature of human life with a gas mask overlay emphasizes the need for equipment upon which the user can rely in a world changed by dramatic circumstances. Sometimes, survival requires more than just the will to endure!
Rambler Knife – Thrully Companion for Outdoor Expeditions
Rambler knife is a great tool for a future user. Its fairly large size (260 mm in total), does not give the impression of exaggeration when held in the hand. Its weight is really accurate and does not tire the hand to much. Design of Rambler is highly polished. Attention is drawn to the handle very nicely and ergonomically designed, with a clear gripping line (recess in the handle), which will successfully fit a hand of both smaller and larger sizes. The recess in the handle on the one hand does not force the unnatural position of the fingers on the handle, and on the other hand prevents the knife from slipping out of the hand, even when cutting with a swing.
When we imagine a man wandering in forest wilderness, carrying a large backpack with strapped, knocking dishes, a sleeping bag, etc., a nature lover going to the desired camp and looking for a knife attached to his belt, we see the Rambler model.
About Presented Rambler Knife
Premium Steel as the Core of the Knife’s Construction
**STRONG STEEL**: Presented knife is made of one piece of Vanadis 23 tool steel. The steel used in the knife is an extremely durable material, very hard, resistant to overload, abrasion and chipping.
**EXCELLENT COATING**: The knife has been coated with a black DLC titanium coating (Diamond Like Carbon coating with hardness ~90 HRC, maximum in the scale is 100 HRC!), which additionally strengthens the steel and improves anti-corrosion properties. The coating has anti-reflective properties and protects the blade before corrosion.
Grind And Blade Shape for Efficient Cutting
**BLADE PROFILE AND GRIND**: The blade is a classic and universal drop point profile. The blade has an innovative double grind (DG – Double Grind). In the middle part there is a groove grind (hollow) to emphasize the cutting properties of the blade section more often used for cutting. The concavity of the grind in this place is useful, for example, when whittling, sharpening a stick, etc. The rest of the blade is a flat grind, especially around the tip, strengthening it in this place.
*JIMPING**: On the back of the blade there is a jimpig, which makes it easier to press the blade of the knife to the material being cut. This element enables precise cuts, makes it easier to guide the cutting edge along the material and helps with cuts that require pressure.
Durable And Comfortable Handle
**SOLID CONSTRUCTION**: The slightly curved design of the knife (an arc from the end of the handle to the tip of the blade), combined with the contoured and undercut handle, adds a dynamic feel. This shape also helps transfer more force into powerful chopping motions, making it easier to cut through larger pieces of wood if needed. The slender, neat oval of the handle fits perfectly and lies securely in the hand, its gentle profiling helps to prevent the hand from slipping onto the cutting edge. The rounded ridge protruding on each side of the handle makes the knife comfortable and secure.
**EXCLUSIVE FATCARBON**: The handle scales are crafted from exclusive carbon fiber produced by FatCarbon, a globally recognized manufacturer from Lithuania. The construction is further reinforced with liners made of highly durable G10 composite. G10 is resistant to moisture, temperature fluctuations, most solvents, and acids, offering exceptional mechanical durability. The textured surface of the handle scales enhances grip, preventing slippage. The scales are secured with stainless steel Torx screws, finished to match the blade.
**PIN FOR LANYARD**: At the end of the knife handle there is a pin for attaching an additional cord, which can be used as a protection against dropping the knife during work, or an additional gripper that facilitates removing the knife from the holster. This solution also allows you to protect the knife against loss. Originally, a section of paracord with a shade matched to the design was attached to the knife. Pin with paracord attached to it, can be used to attache your favourite ornament e.g. knife bead.
Kydex/Holstex Holster And Personalization Of Carrying Options
**KYDEX/HOLSTEX**. The knife has a holster made of hand-formed Kydex/Holstex material, which is characterized by high impact and scratch resistance, characterized by low moisture absorption, resistant to various weather conditions and many chemicals.
**CARRYING OPTIONS**. The holster is attached to the belt using a textile loop. It is equipped with pass-through holes that can be optionally used to secure the holster to a backpack or tactical gear using cordage, rope, or paracord. The holster is wrapped with paracord, matching the color of the section near the knife.
The sheath allows for customization of how it’s carried. To achieve this, the knifemaker designed:
- an optional Kydex buckle, which can be mounted on a belt or MOLLE* systems. The clip is not part of the standard set and can be purchased HERE. The clip designed by the knifemaker is compatible with MOLLE systems. To mount it, first remove the module with the nylon loop.
- An additional option for customizing carry style is an angled buckle designed by the maker, which allows you to carry the knife on your belt at a chosen angle, either more discreetly or visibly. The clip can be ordered HERE.
*The buckle designed by the knifemaker is compatible with MOLLE systems. To attach the buckle, simply remove the module with textile loop.
