Arctic Legend Hiker’s Knife Carbon Steel Karelian Birch – A Finnish Outdoor Knife Crafted with Natural Materials

The Hiker’s Knife is a Finnish bushcraft knife, largely handcrafted using natural materials. Unlike most of the brand’s knives designed with a hidden tang construction, this model features a full tang structure, ensuring even greater durability for various outdoor tasks.

The Hiker’s Knife is made for trails, forest paths, and mountainous terrain. It is a versatile blade for outdoor and camping use.

This model comes with a highly universal drop point blade featuring a straight spine and flat grind. The blade has a satin finish with oxidized flats. The handle is crafted from Karelian birch wood. Included with the knife is a handcrafted black leather sheath for vertical carry.

FULL TANG CONSTRUCTION

One of the most durable knife constructions found in fixed-blade knives. The steel extends through the entire length and width of the handle, with the handle scales permanently attached on both sides using steel pins.

DURABLE CARBON STEEL

Made from 80CrV2 carbon steel, known for its excellent cutting properties. It retains sharpness well and is easy to resharpen in the field. As a carbon steel, it is prone to corrosion, so:

1. It requires additional care, such as oiling or waxing after use.
2. Users shouldn’t worry about signs of wear, as patina formation and color changes are part of the natural aging process, adding to the knife’s character over time.

KARELIAN BIRCH HANDLE

The handle scales are made from Karelian birch, a distinctive Northern European wood with a unique and irregular grain pattern, making each knife one of a kind. This wood has been successfully used for years in traditional Scandinavian knives.

LEATHER SHEATH

The knife comes with a sheath made of genuine leather, which perfectly matches the wood on the handle. Hand-made, it has a high profile and hides 2/3 of the handle length, which, combined with an additional latch, ensures stability when carrying (protecting the knife from falling out). Inside the sheath there is a plastic guide that helps insert the blade into it. The sheath is traditionally attached to the belt in a vertical position on a dangler loop, giving full freedom of movement when working in various positions (during crouching, body rotation, etc.).

Maintenance

1. Remember! Every of our knives are extremely sharp, so be careful when handling them!
2. Do not use your knife for something besides it’s intended purpose! Do not use the knife as a can opener, screwdriver, chisel, hammer, crowbar etc.
3. After using your knife with sea water, blood, fruits or other corrosive mediums, always rinse the knife with fresh water and dry it off.
4. Do not wash the knife with harder chemicals or in the dishwasher. This may damage or destroy the knife.
5. Before storing your knife, apply thin film of high-quality gun oil or special knife oil or wax to knives. We recommend that you always keep your knife and sheath clean and dry when not in use.
