Description
Baltic Blades Angis Gen 2 “Fern” EDC Knife Scalpel | Satin/NeoScale N690Co Paracord Kydex
Angis is an ultralight EDC knife. Angis, in Lithuanian, means ‘viper,’ similar to the only venomous snake in these areas, just like in Poland. The knife concept arose from the pure need for a small, pocket-sized sharp EDC blade, an alternative to a folding knife. Angis is a compact blade designed in response to the needs of online deliveries. Let’s not kid ourselves! In today’s world, one of the main tasks for an everyday blade is opening packages of ordered products. The knife was created precisely for this purpose: for opening packages, cartons, and piercing duct tape. Angis is practically a scalpel. Its blade mimics the sharp shape of a snake’s teeth, while the handle with woven paracord of matching color embodies the silhouette and skin of a snake.
Baltic Blades: Exquisite Craftsmanship from Lithuania’s Finest
Baltic Blades! That’s the brand under which the works of talented knifemaker from Lithuania, Paulius Jančiukas, are hidden. The energetic and brilliant creator has been honing his craft for several years, surprising with ever newer creations. From kitchen knives to hunting, bushcraft, outdoor, and everyday knives, to ingenious accessories useful for their users. Experimenting with designs, types of steel finishes, handle materials – that’s the realm where the knifemaker feels like a fish in water. The effects of these experiments surprise, delight, and work because as Paulius says: “Ultimately, knives are made for work, not posing.” Hence, despite the great appearance, various steels used (Becut, M390, Elmax, etc.), different handle materials (stabilized wood, micarta, G10, carbon fiber, and FatCarbon, etc.), and sheath tailored to the final knife style (leather or Kydex), ultimately, its usability is what counts.
Angis Knife – Because Sometimes Less Means More
N690Co Stainless Steel for Cutting Efficiency and Easy Maintenance
The presented knife is made of cobalt stainless steel N690Co, produced by the Austrian steel mill Böhler. Blades made of this steel are characterized by high durability and long-lasting sharpness. The quality of this steel is evidenced by its use in the production of precision tools and consistently sharp surgical instruments. The knife is made from a single piece of steel, known as a full-tang construction, arguably the most durable design used in fixed-blade knives.
The small drop-point blade is ideal for everyday tasks and has excellent penetrating properties.
Skeletonized Handle for Easy Personalization
The knife features a skeletonized handle with holes for paracord. Originally, a section of paracord was braided on it in colors chosen by the maker. There’s nothing stopping you from customizing the color to suit your needs or replacing it if it gets dirty. Paracord enhances the grip of the handle, making it easier to remove the knife from the sheath. One interesting customization option is undoubtedly the ability to attach a bead to the end of the handle using paracord and one of the popular weaves such as snake or diamond. Originally, a bead was not included in the set, but if you’re interested in enriching your blade with one of them, we invite you HERE.
The Angis NeoScale version features a body finished in NeoScale style. The finish is characterized by unique patterns, shades, and striking imaginative colors. Blades with this type of finish are one-of-a-kind, and the patterns that emerge are unique to each knife. Therefore, they should be treated as original designs and appearing only once.
Compact Kydex Sheath
The knife comes with a sheath made of hand-formed Kydex, known for its high resistance to impacts, scratches, low moisture absorption, and resilience to various weather conditions and many chemicals. The sheath allows for discreet carrying in the pocket. It can also be personalized, for example, by attaching a clip to hook onto the edge of pants pockets or a belt. The clip can also be used to attach the sheath with the knife to a designated spot in a pouch, organizer, or backpack to prevent it from shifting and make it easy to locate when needed. The clip is not included in the set, but for sheath personalization, we recommend one of the two UltiClip clips: 3.3 or 2.2 available HERE if needed.
