The name “Kopa” in Lithuanian means “Dune,” and that’s the name chosen for the knife presented by Baltic Blades. Drawing inspiration from the majestic dunes located in the Lithuanian town of Nida by the Baltic Sea, the Kopa knife reflects the silhouette of these mighty sand hills. Perfected over nearly 2 years, the Kopa is a knife with a slender, ergonomic handle, a broad blade, and highly versatile applications. The wilderness and expeditions are the natural environment for this blade. Noteworthy in the design is the well-chosen handle proportion (130 mm | 5.11″) to the blade (100 mm | 3.94″), where the longer handle provides even better control of the cutting process with the shorter blade, which is particularly useful in hunting. The essential aspect of the design is that despite the shorter blade, the proportion is not disrupted in any way; on the contrary – thanks to the use of a wider blade, it looks great and performs just as well during various tasks.

The effects of these experiments surprise, delight, and work because as Paulius says: “Ultimately, knives are made for work, not posing.” Hence, despite the great appearance, various steels used (Becut, M390, Elmax, etc.), different handle materials (stabilized wood, micarta, G10, carbon fiber, and FatCarbon, etc.), and sheath tailored to the final knife style (leather or Kydex), ultimately, its usability is what counts.
Kopa BCM – Classic Durability
Exceptional AEB-L Steel: The Core of Durability and Versatility
The knife blade is made of stainless steel AEB-L. This is a steel with fairly good impact strength and resistance to corrosion, making it ideal for knives intended for food handling. This steel presents excellent sharpness and retains the edge quite well. It is relatively easy to sharpen, which is extremely valuable in field conditions, where literally a few strokes on a leather strop restore the cutting edge to its original parameters.
The knife has a full tang construction and is made from a single piece of steel running through the entire length and width of the handle, to which handle scales are attached. This type of construction is one of the most durable used in knives with a fixed blade.
Universal Blade Design: Elevating Performance and Efficiency
The knife blade features a clip point style. It is very versatile and convenient in use. In the presented knife, the clip point style perfectly complements the blade with a substantial belly, perfect for food preparation and skinning by hunters. On the back part of the blade at the handle junction, there is a ridge designed to support the finger, which helps to control the cutting process even better and additionally serves as a thumb rest for cuts requiring pressure or those requiring greater precision.
Ergonomic Micarta Handle: Blending Comfort with Unyielding Grip
The handle scales, ergonomically contoured and textured, are made of moisture-resistant Micarta laminate, capable of withstanding temperature changes, most solvents, and acids, while offering high resistance to mechanical damage. Micarta, renowned for its excellent properties, including visual appeal (can be stylized to mimic natural materials), features a non-slip, textured structure. The scales are secured with stainless steel screws, chosen to match the blade finish. They are fitted in a way that the contoured spine of the tang subtly protrudes beyond the edges, enhancing the aesthetic appeal. At the end of the handle, there is a designed hole for additional securing of the knife with a lanyard, paracord, etc..
Leather Sheath: Where Style Meets Practicality
The knife comes with a handmade high-quality Italian vegetable-tanned leather sheath for carrying and storing. The sheath is made in a “dangler” style, with a loosely hanging belt loop. This solution does not restrict the user’s movements and eliminates the risk of the user’s body being pinched during work in kneeling positions, bending over, etc.

Warranty
Knives are covered by a lifetime warranty. This warranty provides protection against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty applies to both the knife and its sheath. If the product covered by this warranty fails due to a manufacturing defect the producer will repair it without charge, or replace it, at our discretion. Only original, unaltered and unmodified items are covered by this warranty.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over an extended period of time and use. Damage not covered under the warranty may be repaired for a reasonable rate. In such cases, a fee will be also charged for shipping.
Maintenance
- Remember! Every of our knives are extremely sharp, so be careful when handling them!
- Do not use your knife for something besides it’s intended purpose! Do not use the knife as a can opener, screwdriver, chisel, hammer, crowbar etc.
- After using your knife with sea water, blood, fruits or other corrosive mediums, always rinse the knife with fresh water and dry it off.
- Do not wash the knife with harder chemicals or in the dishwasher. This may damage or destroy the knife.
- Before storing your knife, apply thin film of high-quality gun oil or special knife oil or wax to knives. We recommend that you always keep your knife and sheath clean and dry when not in use.
- Always keep your knife sharp, so it can always take care of you.
