BPS Knives Bushmate 2.0 by DBK Bushcraft Knife with Leather Sheath with Ferro Rod

BPS Knives Bushmate 2.0 bushcraft knife was created as a result of design and production cooperation. The Dutch testers known as: DBK – Dutch Bushcraft Knives are responsible for the design, and the Ukrainian manufacturer is behind the production. The result of this cooperation is a universal outdoor knife made of 1066 carbon steel known for its sharpness, a walnut handle and a leather sheath containing a flint for lighting a fire.

• An updated version of the field and forest knife designed by the Dutch from DBK. A thicker, therefore stronger blade, better blade and handle proportions, a screw-integrated construction and a more solid leather sheath.

Steel and Blade Profile

**SOLID CONSTRUCTION**: Bushmate 2.0 is a full-tang knife, made of a single piece of steel running the entire length and width of the handle, to which wooden covers are attached. Full tang is the most solid construction among fixed-blade knives.

**DURABLE STEEL**: The blade is made of 1066 carbon steel and finished with satin, has a drop point profile and Scandinavian grind with a cutting edge brought to zero, very well suited for bushcraft or camping work. Because the Bushmate 2.0 knife blade is made of carbon steel, it should be washed and wiped dry well after use and preferably protected with wax or knife protective oil to prevent corrosion.

Natural Wood – Walnut Handle Scales

**NATURAL HANDLE**: The handle linings are made of walnut wood. This wood has been successfully used for years as a material for the handles of classic field knives. The linings are screwed to the structure with screws and can be easily removed or replaced. They have also been protected with Danish oil that protects against weather conditions and brings out the natural beauty of the material.

**HOLE FOR LANYARD**: At the end of the knife handle there is a hole for attaching an additional cord, which can be used as protection against dropping the knife during work, or an additional grip to make it easier to remove the knife from the holster.

Natural Leather Sheath with Ferro Rod

**SHEATH**: The knife comes with a hand-formed, solid sheath made of genuine leather. The leather sheath and the knife with a wooden handle are a classic and beautiful combination. The sheath is stitched with nylon thread, which adds solidity and gives it an original look. The knife sheath has a high profile and hides part of the handle to better protect the knife from falling out. It is traditionally attached to the belt:

1. in a vertical position on a hanging loop for greater flexibility during use or
2. closer to the body on a loop located on the back of the sheath.

**FERRO ROD**: The knife is also equipped with ferro rod, which can be useful during a camping trip, tent or an ordinary meeting with friends by the campfire. The loop for carrying the rod is permanenlty added to the sheath.

For the Bushmate knife project, the testers from the Netherlands, known as DBK – Dutch Bushcraft Knives, are responsible. Maarten and Mikkie B, the individuals in question, have designed a simple, practical bushcraft knife based on their experiences and interactions with various knife brands, both global and local, as well as custom knives. Conducting thorough tests on successive knives, the gentlemen from DBK perform reliable assessments, often challenging, infused with a unique sense of humor to emphasize that a knife is just a tool and should be treated as such. Through their videos, Dutch Bushcraft Knives has gained the trust of many knife users worldwide.

Maintenance

1. Remember! Every of our knives are extremely sharp, so be careful when handling them!
2. Do not use your knife for something besides it’s intended purpose! Do not use the knife as a can opener, screwdriver, chisel, hammer, crowbar etc.
3. After using your knife with sea water, blood, fruits or other corrosive mediums, always rinse the knife with fresh water and dry it off.
4. Do not wash the knife with harder chemicals or in the dishwasher. This may damage or destroy the knife.
5. Before storing your knife, apply thin film of high-quality gun oil or special knife oil or wax to knives. We recommend that you always keep your knife and sheath clean and dry when not in use.
6. Always keep your knife sharp, so it can always take care of you.
