About the presented version of the Spike knife
Premium steel as the core of the knife construction
The presented Spike knife is made of one piece of Vanadis 4 Extra steel. So it is a full-tang knife. The steel used in the knife is an extremely durable material, very hard, resistant to overload, abrasion and chipping. The knife has been coated with a black PVD coating which additionally strengthens the steel and improves anti-corrosion properties. The coating has anti-reflective properties, which also makes it suitable for tactical use.
Grind and blade shape for effective cutting
An interesting fact about the knife’s performance is the innovative hollow grind. It is visible at first glance in the form of characteristic grooves on both the correct blade and the false blade. The concavity of the grind is very subtle and in addition to the visual effect, it is designed to support the cutting process (it reduces the effect of the material sticking to the blade and facilitates splitting of the material). Complementing the innovative cut is the wharncliffe style blade, which allows you to take full advantage of the tip of the cutting edge, which is especially important when making precise cuts, stabbing, etc.
The spine of the blade has a jimpig, which makes it easier to press the blade of the knife to the material being cut. This element enables precise cuts, makes it easier to guide the cutting edge along the material and helps with cuts that require pressure.
Ergonomic skeletonized handle
The ergonomic, skeletonized handle lies firmly in the hand. All edges located on it have been precisely ground to make the grip fully comfortable. The holes in the frame body, apart from the aesthetic impression, are useful for attaching an additional section of paracord. It is a solution that improves grip, makes it easier to remove the knife from the holster, and gives the user the feeling of holding a larger tool in the hand than it really is.
Durable kydex sheath and various mounting options
The knife has a sheath made of hand-formed kydex material, which is characterized by high impact and scratch resistance, characterized by low moisture absorption, resistant to various weather conditions and many chemicals.
We attach the holster to the belt with kydex buckle, which can be mounted to molle solutions. The initial mounting of the buckle allows the entire belt to be mounted vertically. However, it is possible to change the position of the buckle in a way that allows for more discreet horizontal mounting (along the belt, on the back or in the front on the hip belt). Then just unscrew the buckle and change its position. Strongly stable fastening (if we prefer it) can be obtained additionally by tying the holster through the through holes in it.
A neck knife for quick use
The Spike knife is a lightweight design knife, also ideal for carrying around the neck (as a neck knife after secure before losing it). To attach it to the neck, we can use any solution, such as paracord, string, chain, etc., which we attach to a holster adapted to this.
