Description
MS Knives Liberty Knife Ironwood | Modestas Skirmantas is a useful tool for everyday use (EDC) or for outdoor trips.
Premium steel as the core of the knife construction
Liberty is a knife with a full tang construction (made of one carefully selected piece of material) made of the highest quality Elmax steel (chrome-vanadium-molybdenum powder steel). Elmax is one of the few steels available on the market in the absolute top quality of materials used in the production of premium knives. The Elmax blade is extremely resistant to overload, remains sharp for a long time (wears very slowly) and has excellent anti-corrosion properties.
A universal blade for any challenge
The blade with a 4 mm of the thickness, made in a straight back style, with a flat grind, ensures a smooth cut and performs various tasks (piercing, planing, preparing meals, etc.). The knife does not have a classic handguard, but its role is played by a finger undercut, which prevents the hand from slipping onto the cutting edge during operation and improves the grip.
Robust micarta handle
The knife handle is made of Black Canvas Micarta laminate, resistant to moisture, temperature changes, most solvents and acids, with high resistance to mechanical damage. Micarta, known for its excellent properties, also visual (it can be styled like a natural material), has a non-slip, rough structure. The linings were glued and screwed with stainless screws in the shade of polished steel. The screws are quite a characteristic detail of the knife, due to the original pattern on them. Referring to the handle design, we notice a characteristic, “angular” design. The planes of the covers are not rounded. At first glance, in the oval of the entire handle, we notice the contours of the angles. They add a dynamic and interesting character to the whole project, and most importantly, they are contoured in a way that does not interfere with the certainty of the grip when operating the knife. In a word, the handle is as good as the more traditional shapes.
Robust ergonomic ironwood handle
The handles are made of ironwood. Irownwood name is used to describe various types of wood with very high hardness and density. It is a natural material, very durable and with beautiful colors, different for each piece. The linings were glued and screwed with stainless steel screws. The screws are quite a characteristic detail of the knife, due to the original pattern on them.
The handle has a hole at its end, which is used to additionally protect the knife against loss with a rope, paracord, etc.
Leather sheath
Liberty knife comes with a leather sheath for carrying. The sheath is completely handmade from high-quality vegetable-tanned Italian leather. The stitches were made with thick threads with a massive stitch. The edges are nicely finished, smoothing them. The leather is black and has the MS Knives logo on its front. The sheath has a belt clip.
