Bona Knives Leszy Damast & Ironwood knife is a project carried out in the workshop of Marcin Bona, inextricably linked with the forest environment.

Leszy in the old Slavic beliefs is the master of the forest and the animals living in it. Leszy knife obviously refers to this character. This is especially visible in the handle made of various types of wood, which is obviously a product of forests. Presented knife Bona Knives Leszy Damast & Ironwood has a beautifull damast steel blade. The knife has a handle made of ironwood and a part located near the crossguard, consisting of: brass and resin ivory and fibra spacers. The knife set includes a natural leather sheath, hand-textured, with a color matching the design.

Bona Knives – The Art Of Harmony

Since many years, Bona Knives has been creating extraordinary knives that have the character of talismans for many of their users. The knives and sheaths designed by the knifemaker have many executive nuances that we can pick up over time, and we can only guess the meanings of some of them. In Marcin Bona’s Art of Harmony, every detail is “for something”! This makes communing with its products and “discovering” them every day an amazing adventure in itself. Bona Knives – Marcin Bona apart from the product,  provides inspiration, a story and a coherent concept. It is not without reason that many consider his works to be cult.

About presented execution of Leszy knife

Universal knife blade

Leszy is a knife with a hidden tang construction (steel core hidden in the handle). The knife blade, profiled in the drop point style, with a flat gind is very efficient and recommended to all types of work. Damascus steel used as the core of the structure. This steel is characterized by high density, is durable, wear-resistant and keeps sharpness for a long time.

The edges of the spine of the blade are sharply finished (but not so cut that it is easy to cut yourself), allowing you to work efficiently with the flint.

Blade finish – damast steel inique pattern is very effective and fits perfectly with the entire aesthetic design.

Ironwood handle

The handle is made of very durable ironwood. Ironwood name is used to describe various types of wood with very high hardness and density. It is a natural material, very durable and at the same time having beautiful colors, different for each piece. The handle has been firmly attached to the spindle, among others with a brass pin*, which perfectly matches the handguard and spacers made of the same material. The handguard, of course, has a function that improves safety during work. Namely, it minimizes the risk of your hand slipping on the blade during work, thus preventing possible injuries.

*Copper and brass materials have a living finish and are intended to change color or patina over time. These changes are not covered by warranty. The warranty does not cover normal patina or discoloration, as this is normal for natural metals and part of the normal transformation of solid brass and copper in outdoor environments.

Handmade natural leather sheath

The knife set includes a handmade sheath made of natural vegetable tanned leather. The leather has an individual texture made by the creator. The color consistent with the entire design was given by a knifemaker with the use of natural paints. The sheaths has a belt loop and is ultimately carried vertically at the waist.

Warranty

 

Bona Knives are covered by a lifetime warranty. This warranty provides protection against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty applies to both the knife and its sheath. If the product covered by this warranty fails due to a manufacturing defect the producer will repair it without charge, or replace it, at our discretion. Only original, unaltered and unmodified items are covered by this warranty.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over an extended period of time and use. Damage not covered under the warranty may be repaired for a reasonable rate. In such cases, a fee will be also charged for shipping.

Maintenance

 

  1. Remember! Every of our knives are extremely sharp, so be careful when handling them!
  2. Do not use your knife for something besides it’s intended purpose! Do not use the knife as a can opener, screwdriver, chisel, hammer, crowbar etc.
  3. After using your knife with sea water, blood, fruits or other corrosive mediums, always rinse the knife with fresh water and dry it off.
  4. Do not wash the knife with harder chemicals or in the dishwasher. This may damage or destroy the knife.
  5. Before storing your knife, apply thin film of high-quality gun oil or special knife oil or wax to knives. We recommend that you always keep your knife and sheath clean and dry when not in use.
  6. Always keep your knife sharp, so it can always take care of you.

    TRC Knives M-1XST

    The M-1XST knife is a project of Andrius Tricius invented in cooperation with operators of military special forces. The M-1XST designed in a military-tactical style, is a cousin of the Mille Cuori knife from regular TRC Knives line. Currently, the knife “serve” in one of the special forces unit in one of Central European countries. The M-1XST knife is a response to demand of operators of special forces but also available for civil users. Contrary to frequent guesses, military users mostly use their knives in tactical operations as supporting tools, which cannot fail during mission. Hence, the knives chosen by soldiers must meet certain requirements in terms of strength (construction materials) and usability (desirable characteristics). Knives of this type are used as you can imagine, for example, cutting lines, breaking windows or removing other obstacles. Knives are used during field (survival) trainings, and during daily activities while waiting for the task (e.g. for minor repairs). It is a model belonging to the series "Tales of Man" (you can read about the series HERE), inextricably linked with various characters of bygone eras, who in their time shocked some and amazed others with their persistence in pursuing their goals and boldly realizing their dreams. South Pole was planned down to the last detail, just as Amundsen had planned its expedition. Wading on skis, dog sleds, and facing death many times, Roald Amundsen and his men were the first to conquer the South Pole. People hailed him a hero. The name Neckmuk also refers directly to the shape of the blade modeled in the knives used by one of the more famous nineteenth-century American promoters of life in the bosom of nature George „Nessmuk” Sears’s. Due to the fact that Nessmuk spent a large part of his life in the field, he thought that the camping knife should not be too large and have an exaggerated thickness and its shape should help in cutting meat and preparing food. The Neckmuk project definitely falls within this canon.     TRC Knives Classic Freedom knife was created in the studio of the Lithuanian knifemaker Andrius Tricius (TRC Knives), inspired by the figure of a great enthusiast of fishing and communing with nature, the famous writer Ernest Hemingway. The model, along with its larger counterpart - This Is Freedom, belongs to the "Tales of Man" series (more about the series HERE) created to commemorate the extraordinary figures of bygone eras.
