Multitools, universal tools. Multitool is in fact a folding tool with many functionalities, and strictly speaking a collection of various tools connected with each other, presented in a compact, handy form. The multitool is usually equipped with pliers with a wire cutter, a knife, a Phillips screwdriver and a flat screwdriver, a measuring tape, an opener for bottles and cans, a file, often a wood saw, sometimes small scissors. The variety and number of available tools, material, etc. depend on the manufacturer, model, price level, etc.

There are more universal multitools for each type of user and more specialized ones with a set of tools dedicated to a given profession, e.g. a multitool for a cyclist with additional keys, a multitool for an electrician with a tool for removing insulation, etc.

Due to the versatility of the multitool, it is very often used in everyday life and it is a tool for the so-called “just in case”. Multitool is one of the tools that, apart from a flashlight and a knife, is also a “must have” for every person who sees himself as a participant in the EDC (EveryDay Carry) community, grouping all those who always have their personal equipment with them.
