Description

Baltic Blades Iltis is a compact fixed-blade knife. Handy and easy to carry, it easily fits in a pocket or waist pack.

Iltis means “fang” in Lithuanian, and that’s the name given to this Baltic Blades knife. Small but feisty. With a 75 mm (2.95″) blade and a total length of 180 mm (7.08″), it fits easily into a jeans or combat pocket. Comfortable to grip and operate. Supplied with a very comfortable Kydex sheath, it works great as an EDC tool and a lightweight blade for outdoor activities.

Baltic Blades: Blades With Character

Baltic Blades! That’s the brand under which the works of talented knifemaker from Lithuania, Paulius Jančiukas, are hidden. The energetic and brilliant creator has been honing his craft for several years, surprising with ever newer creations. From kitchen knives to hunting, bushcraft, outdoor, and everyday knives, to ingenious accessories useful for their users. Experimenting with designs, types of steel finishes, handle materials – that’s the realm where the knifemaker feels like a fish in water. The effects of these experiments surprise, delight, and work because as Paulius says: “Ultimately, knives are made for work, not posing.” Hence, despite the great appearance, various steels used (Becut, M390, Elmax, etc.), different handle materials (stabilized wood, micarta, G10, carbon fiber, and FatCarbon, etc.), and sheath tailored to the final knife style (leather or Kydex), ultimately, its usability is what counts.

Iltis – Your EDC Blade

*DURABLE CONSTRUCTION**: The knife is constructed with a full-tang design, meaning it is made from a single piece of steel that runs the entire length and width of the handle, with the handle scales securely attached. This design is one of the most durable available for fixed-blade knives.

**PREMIUM STEEL**: The blade is crafted from premium Elmax steel, a material renowned worldwide for its exceptional quality, originating from UDDEHOLM group’s European steel mills. Elmax blades offer outstanding features: long-lasting sharpness, corrosion resistance, and exceptional durability, including high wear resistance and strong resistance to mechanical damage.

**UNIVERSAL BLADE**: The knife features a drop point blade, making it highly versatile and easy to use. At the spine, near the handle, jimping (textured grooves) provides a solid spot for thumb placement, enhancing control during cutting tasks. This jimping is particularly useful for cuts requiring more pressure or precision.

**MODERN MATERIAL HANDLE SCALES**: The handle scales, ergonomically contoured and textured, are made of moisture-resistant Micarta laminate, capable of withstanding temperature changes, most solvents, and acids, while offering high resistance to mechanical damage. Micarta, renowned for its excellent properties, including visual appeal (can be stylized to mimic natural materials), features a non-slip, textured structure. The scales are secured with stainless steel screws, chosen to match the blade finish. They are fitted in a way that the contoured spine of the tang subtly protrudes beyond the edges, enhancing the aesthetic appeal.

**HOLE FOR LANYARD**: At the end of the handle, there is a designed hole for additional securing of the knife with a lanyard, paracord, etc..

**KYDEX SHEATH**:

  • The knife is carried and stored in a Kydex sheath. The sheath doesn’t have a handle by default, but it does have holes that can be used to attach paracord or a custom attachment, such as one of two UltiClip clips: 3.3 or 2.2.
  • Kydex is known for its high impact resistance, scratch resistance, low moisture absorption, and resistance to various weather conditions and many chemicals.
