Description
MK Knives & Tools Crowbar “Grey Storm” Knife is knife designed for the needs of extreme survival.
About knifemaking standards and process at MK Knives & Tools
MK Knives & Tools does not recognize compromises. Each of its products is planned down to the smallest detail, each project, especially the custom one have individual features. Each knife is detaily and clean finished (grinds, chamfering, etc). All screws, even the smallest ones, are gently chamfered to remove angular finishes when project requires it. Each knife is treated as a separate whole and the holster is treated the same way. One fits the other, the patterns on the holster are consistent with those on the handle, etc. Mirroring every MK Knives & Tools knife we see not only the product, but we “feel” the hours spent in the workshop. When we buy Marcin Kampka’s product, we buy many hours of his work. We can be sure that the knife has been polished to the smallest detail.

About the presented version of the Crowbar knife
Durable knife construction
Presented Crowbar is made of one piece of steel and has a full-tang structure with covers attached to the handle, and the steel runs along its entire length and width. Full-tang is the most durable type of construction found in fixed blade knives.
The knife has been coated with a black DLC titanium coating (Diamond Like Carbon coating with hardness ~90 HRC), which additionally strengthens the steel and improves anti-corrosion properties. The coating has anti-reflective properties.
Durable premium steel as the core of the
Knife of Elmax steel. Elmax is one of the few steels available on the market in the absolute top quality of materials used in the production of premium knives. Knives made of it are extremely resistant to overload, stay sharp for a long time and have excellent anti-corrosion properties.
Grinds and blade shape for effective cutting
The knife blade has been profiled in the drop point style. This design helps to make the best use of the really large blade. It should be noted that the slightly curved design of the knife (arc from the end of the handle to the tip of the blade) in combination with a properly profiled, undercut handle gives the whole a more aggressive character and, if necessary, allows you to better use the force put into a sweeping cut when chopping, for example, a larger piece of wood, etc. A curiosity in the execution of the knife is the innovative hollow grind. It is visible at first glance in the form of characteristic grooves on both the correct blade and the false blade. The concavity of the grind is very subtle and, in addition to the visual effect, is designed to support the cutting process (it reduces the effect of the material sticking to the blade and facilitates splitting of the material).
On the back of the blade there is a jimpig, which makes it easier to press the blade of the knife to the material being cut. This element enables precise cuts, makes it easier to guide the cutting edge along the material and helps with cuts that require pressure.
Durable, ergonomic knife handle
Grips of the handles with an ergonomic, oval shape are made of G10 composite. G10 is resistant to moisture, temperature changes, most solvents and acids, has a high resistance to mechanical damage. G10 in the knife has a rough structure that prevents the handle from slipping in the hand. The handle covers have been screwed together with steel screws. The screws complete the knife’s design, elegantly matching the style of blade. What is important in the construction of the handle is the rounded spine, protruding from each side of the handle, made of the steel protruding beyond the outline of the Micarta cladding. According to some users, this procedure makes the handle even more grippy, and certainly stronger, due to the greater width of the steel in this place.
At the end of the knife handle there is a hole for attaching an additional cord, which can be used as a protection against dropping the knife during work, or an additional gripper that facilitates removing the knife from the holster. Originally, it includes a section of paracord with a shade matched to the design.
A refined kydex holster and various mounting options
The knife has a holster made of hand-formed kydex material characterized by high impact and scratch resistance, characterized by low moisture absorption, resistant to various weather conditions and many chemicals.
We attach the holster to the belt with a thick nylon grommet, strong, solid but flexible enough that it does not bother and does not compress when squatting or bending down. The set with the knife and the holster also includes an additional kydex buckle. The buckle is put in place of the disassembled nylon grommet, which allows for mounting to MOLLE solutions (backpack, shoulder strap, harness with this solution). The optional protection of the knife can be obtained thanks to the through holes in the holster, by threading a string or a rope into them and additionally tying them. Of course, you can use the paracord supply that the holster is wrapped around (its color corresponds to the paracord section attached to the knife).
