About Trollsky Knives

Michael Trollsky is one of Poland’s top knife makers, recognized widely both in Poland and internationally. He’s a regular participant at the prestigious Blade Show in the U.S. Trollsky’s knives are known for their distinctive designs, featuring a recognizable chili pepper on the blade. He believes a good, functional knife should be comfortable to use for long periods without causing hand discomfort, and this philosophy is reflected in his designs. Trollsky also runs the Trollsky Knifemaking Academy, where enthusiasts can create their own knives under his guidance.

Trollsky Knives for a Wider Audience

Trollsky’s handmade knives are produced in limited numbers, which led to the idea of making his designs more widely available through a production line. This line follows Trollsky’s belief that most tasks can be done with small to medium-sized knives that balance portability and usability. This idea came to life with the first compact folding knife, Mandu, its larger successor, the Mandu XL, and the Mandu EVO produced by Bestech Knives, known for their high standards.

Mandu EVO Folding Knife

Mandu is the folding version of one of Trollsky Knives’ most recognizable designs – the fixed blade knife of the same name. The EVO version is the third and final edition of the project, an evolution shaped by close interaction with knife users. Mandu EVO incorporates selected features from both previous versions. From the first, it retains a compact size; from the second, it keeps the liner lock and a Deep Carry pocket clip for discreet everyday carry. A key update in the EVO version is the replacement of the standard D2 blade steel with Swedish stainless steel 14C28N. The limited edition, like the Mandu XL, is made with premium American MagnaCut steel.

Mandu EVO is defined by its broad, leaf-shaped blade and rounded handle that fits comfortably in the hand, making it a practical everyday tool. Compared to the Mandu XL, it is smaller (180 mm | 7.08″ versus 215 mm | 8.46″), offering increased compactness and discretion. Mandu EVO is a great choice for all types of users.

Versatile Everyday Blade

**STAINLESS STEEL BLADE**: 14C28N is a Swedish stainless steel developed by Sandvik specifically for knife production. It offers an excellent balance of edge retention, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening—making it ideal for EDC, outdoor, and kitchen knives. The addition of nitrogen increases hardness and overall performance. Compared to D2, 14C28N is more corrosion-resistant and easier to sharpen, while D2 generally holds an edge slightly longer but is much more prone to rust.

**FUNCTIONAL BLADE PROFILE**: The drop point blade is one of the most popular profiles in folding knives—and knives in general. Its gently sloping spine toward the tip provides excellent control and increased strength. Drop point blades are perfect for everyday use, combining versatility with a practical, user-friendly shape.

**JIMPING**: The blade features jimping along the spine, providing thumb support during push cuts or precision tasks such as cutting along a straight edge.

Modern Construction

**FLIPPER OPENING & SECURE LOCK**: The knife opens smoothly using the flipper tab, which, once deployed, also acts as a finger guard preventing your hand from sliding onto the edge. Thanks to ceramic ball bearings, the opening action is fluid and fast. The knife is equipped with a reliable liner lock that automatically engages upon opening, preventing accidental closure. This easy one-handed operation places the Mandu EVO firmly in the modern folder category.

**HANDLE SCALES**: The handle scales are made of modern materials—either micarta or G10, depending on the version. Both are known for durability and resistance to environmental factors. Micarta is made from resin-impregnated fabric layers, offering a warmer, more natural look and excellent grip. G10 is a fiberglass and resin laminate, harder and less absorbent, with a sleek, technical feel.

**STAINLESS STEEL BACKSPACER**: The scales are reinforced with a color-matched stainless steel backspacer. At the end of the handle is a pin for attaching a lanyard, paracord, or fob, which can also be used for decoration (e.g., a bead).

**CARRY CLIP**: The stainless steel pocket clip ensures secure carry in your pocket, backpack, pouch, etc., reducing the risk of losing your tool. This is a Deep Carry clip, designed for discreet pocket carry. Positioned at the end of the handle, it allows tip-up carry.

Warranty

Trollsky Knives are covered by a 24-month warranty. This warranty provides protection against material and manufacturing defects. It applies to both the knife and the sheath. If a warranted product is damaged due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair it free of charge or replace it with a new one, at our discretion. The warranty covers only original, unaltered, and unmodified components.

The warranty does not cover damages caused by improper use, improper maintenance, normal wear and tear, or natural discoloration of colors occurring during use.

Maintenance

1. Remember! Every of our knives are extremely sharp, so be careful when handling them!
2. Do not use your knife for something besides it’s intended purpose! Do not use the knife as a can opener, screwdriver, chisel, hammer, crowbar etc.
3. After using your knife with sea water, blood, fruits or other corrosive mediums, always rinse the knife with fresh water and dry it off.
4. Do not wash the knife with harder chemicals or in the dishwasher. This may damage or destroy the knife.
5. Before storing your knife, apply thin film of high-quality gun oil or special knife oil or wax to knives. We recommend that you always keep your knife and sheath clean and dry when not in use.
6. Always keep your knife sharp, so it can always take care of you.
