Description

Sliwkosky Knives Hardy ‘Desert Tan’ was designed for survival use, but not only. In its design and style, it will be a useful tool for the hunter and for anyone who likes to spend time in nature.

Sliwkosky Knives Hardy ‘Desert Tan’ is indeed a “tough fighter” designed for heavy work. Knifemaker Jakub Śliwka this time made a knife that can certainly be used as a survival knife, ready to handle most tasks that we can meet in the forest or more demanding terrain. Very strong 4.0 mm thick Sleipner steel, known for its chipping strength and resistance to overload, will provide above-average strength. The design and size of the whole 260 mm will allow not only for efficient cutting, planing, chopping or working with flint (thanks to the edges of the ridge adapted to this). In combination with a handle profiled in a way that prevents the knife from slipping out of the hand, it will also be effective when cutting smaller trees or baring wood. Hardy is a knife that is definitely intended for users who practice forest tourism, bushcraft passion, camping in the bosom of nature, etc.

Hardy knife features a black, acid stonewash-finished Sleipner steel blade, G10 Desert Tan composite grips, black G10 composite liners, and a black kydex holster with a desert colour accent.

About the standards at Sliwkosky Knives

Sliwkosky Knives makes knives of various styles. Regardless of their use, be it outdoor or kitchen, it produces knives according to its individual concept, design and material consistent with the intended purpose of each of them. In this way, products of very high quality and accuracy of workmanship are created. All work is done manually using machines adapted to his needs. Production stages, such as cutting the knife shape, hardening, grinding, sharpening, processing the material on the handle and holster, take place in his workshop. The final product is refined with its shape and color and is a solid tool for the future user.

Strong sleipner steel as the core of the knife construction

Hardy knife is a full tang design made of Sleipner steel. Sleipner is a high-quality alloy steel, with its properties significantly exceeding the tool steels common on the market. This steel is very resistant to mechanical damage (chipping, etc.), twisting and overloading. Sharpens relatively easily and remains sharp for a long time. With proper treatment, it has quite good anti-corrosion properties. Due to its high impact strength, sleipner steel is eagerly used in large-size knives, naturally intended for extreme use.

A universal blade for any task

The blade with a ridge with a thickness of 4.0 mm, made in the drop point style, with a flat cut, ensures smooth cutting and performing various tasks (piercing, planing, baring, grubbing, preparing meals, etc.). We have a 133 mm blade at our disposal, the spine of which is deliberately sharpened, allowing for efficient work with the flint.

Robust ergonomic G10 handle

The handles are made of a very durable G10 composite. G10 is resistant to moisture, temperature changes, most solvents and acids, has a high resistance to mechanical damage. In the presented knife, the material of the covers has a special profile to prevent the handle from slipping in the hand. In addition, the shape of the handle itself, especially at the end, facilitates cutting with a swing, preventing the knife from slipping out of the hand. Desert Tan covers, in addition to the visual effect, make it easier to find the knife after dropping it, for example, in grass or undergrowth.

At the end of the knife handle you will find a hole for attaching an additional cord, which can be used as a protection against dropping the knife during work, or an additional gripper that makes it easier to remove the knife from the holster.

Kydex holster

The knife has a holster made of hand-formed kydex material characterized by high impact and scratch resistance, characterized by low moisture absorption, resistant to various weather conditions and many chemicals. In the presented model, the holster is made of black material, enriched with a desert-colored insert (Desert Tan).

We attach the holster to the belt with a webbing eyelet made of durable nylon. To backpacks, harness elements, we attach it with a string or paracord threaded through the holes in the holster, which can also be used to attach additional accessories (e.g. tinder, etc.).
