Description

The Mothus, designed by distinguished Polish designer Grzegorz Grabarski “Kombou”, radiates freshness and originality among countless designs available on the market. It proves that unconventional design in a folding knife does not have to compromise usability – quite the opposite. It can remain a very universal everyday tool, while also serving as a talisman, a favorite gadget, or simply a source of joy from owning it.

The Mothus BG line is aimed at a wider audience – a more wallet-friendly version of the folder that was originally designed as a premium product (BT line), which by its nature was available to a smaller group of buyers.

The Mothus BG features a blade made from Swedish 14C28N stainless steel, opened via a thumb disk located on the spine of the blade and locked by a Crossbar Lock mechanism. These two features, combined with a reversible stainless steel clip resembling the silhouette of a moth (EN: mothus), make the knife suitable for both right- and left-handed users.

Universal Everyday Blade

**STAINLESS STEEL BLADE**: 14C28N is a Swedish stainless steel developed by Sandvik specifically for knife production. It offers an excellent balance between edge retention, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening, making it ideal for EDC, outdoor, and kitchen knives. The addition of nitrogen increases hardness and overall steel performance. Compared to D2, 14C28N is more resistant to corrosion and easier to sharpen, while D2 typically holds an edge slightly longer but is far more prone to rust.

**PRACTICAL BLADE PROFILE**: The knife blade is a drop point, one of the most popular profiles in folding and fixed-blade knives. It is characterized by a gently descending spine toward the tip, which ensures good blade control and increased strength. The drop point works perfectly for everyday use (EDC), combining versatility with a practical, functional shape.

Modern Construction

**THUMB DISK OPENING AND RELIABLE LOCK**: The knife opens smoothly via a thumb disk located on the spine of the blade. Deployment is free and fluid thanks to the ceramic ball bearings.

The knife features a stable and durable Crossbar Lock that prevents accidental closing during use. In addition to using the thumb disk, opening and closing the blade can also be done by pulling back and releasing the steel lock bar while making a flicking motion with the hand. This type of lock is very safe for the user and is particularly popular among those who enjoy fidgeting with folding knives.

**HANDLE SCALES**: The handle scales are made of G10 mounted on hidden steel liners. G10 is a fiberglass and resin laminate, hard and non-absorbent, with a highly technical character known for its durability and resistance to external conditions.

**STAINLESS STEEL BACKSPACER**: The handle scales are reinforced with a stainless steel backspacer color-matched to the blade.

**POCKET CLIP**: The stainless steel clip provides secure carry in a pocket, backpack, pouch, etc., helping minimize the risk of losing the tool. The clip, located at the end of the handle, allows the knife to be carried closed with the tip pointing upwards (Tip-Up position

Warranty

Bestech Knives are covered by a 24-month warranty. This warranty provides protection against material and manufacturing defects. It applies to both the knife and its sheath/pouch. If a product covered by the warranty is damaged due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair it free of charge or replace it with a new one, at our discretion. The warranty only covers original, unaltered, and unmodified components.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use, improper care, normal wear and tear, or natural color fading during use.

Maintenance

1. Remember! Every of our knives are extremely sharp, so be careful when handling them!
2. Do not use your knife for something besides it’s intended purpose! Do not use the knife as a can opener, screwdriver, chisel, hammer, crowbar etc.
3. After using your knife with sea water, blood, fruits or other corrosive mediums, always rinse the knife with fresh water and dry it off.
4. Do not wash the knife with harder chemicals or in the dishwasher. This may damage or destroy the knife.
5. Before storing your knife, apply thin film of high-quality gun oil or special knife oil or wax to knives. We recommend that you always keep your knife and sheath clean and dry when not in use.
6. Always keep your knife sharp, so it can always take care of you.
