About standards and the knifemaking process at MK Knives & Tools
Knifemaker Marcin Kampka does not recognize compromises. Each of its products is planned down to the smallest detail, each project, especially the custom one, must have individual features. Each knife must have a perfect finish, grinding, chamfering, etc. All screws – even the smallest ones – are gently chamfered to remove angular finishes. Each knife is treated as a separate whole and the holster is treated the same way. One must fit the other, the patterns on the holster must be consistent with those on the handle, etc. Mirroring every MK Knives & Tools knife we see not only the product, but we “feel” the hours spent in the studio. When we buy Marcin Kampka’s product, we buy many hours of his work. We can be sure that the knife has been polished to the smallest detail.

About presented execution of Venom knife
Polished MK Knives & Tools project
The Venom folding knife (MK-03F) in the present shape is the result of the development of the MK Knives & Tools folding knife family. After long and fruitful work on the creation of the first folder (Ingeni – MK-01F), it is time to combine the concept of a karambit blade with the design of a folding knife. The result is the Venom knife, technically known as MK-03F, which combines the best features of an Ingeni folding knife (MK-01F) with the attributes of a karambit fixed blade knife: Claw (MK-05). Venom is as meticulous as the previous project, it is the coherence of concept and performance. Design, as usual, planned not only in terms of usability, but also appearance. The visual sphere, the proper distribution of proportions between the individual components of the knife and its final image are an important element of the philosophy of work at MK Knives & Tools and this is also visible in the Venom project. Of course, in the design and appearance, there is also a discernible consistency with other knifemaker designs and moving within your own style, which makes individual knives quite easily identifiable. The workmanship does not lack roundings, “chamfers”, subtle angularities in the right places, thoughtful color composition and delicate decorative patterns.
Before leaving the workshop, each Venom knife is checked and tested for smooth operation. The basic torsion of the structure is selected individually for each copy. The knife works very smoothly and freely from the very first moment. It is recommended not to adjust the twist immediately after use, because after first stage of using the knife will fit even better.
Premium steel and utility blade
The blade of the Venom knife has an innovative double hollow grind, visible as characteristic grooves on the blade, reducing the effect of sticking to it of the material being cut (the chollow is very subtle). The profile of the blade is karambit with a straight cutting edge. This design allows for easier cutting of ties, knots, cutting the material at the ruler, not to mention simpler activities such as opening packages, cutting cardboard boxes, etc. There is a jimping on the spine, which makes it easier to make precise and demanding cuts with the thumb. The Elmax premium steel blade gives excellent performance effects: long-lasting sharpness, rustproofness and reliable durability (high abrasion resistance, high resistance to mechanical damage).
Smooth opening and stable safety lock
The knife opening happens thanks to the flipper protruding from the blade, which, after unfolding the blade, serves as a finger guard to prevent the hand from slipping over the cutting edge and potential injuries. The knife is unfolded very freely and smoothly thanks to its steel ball bearing. The pivot on which the blade moves, connecting it with the covers, is also made of elmax steel. The knife has a stable and durable protection against accidental closing of the frame lock. This lock is known for its reliability, which in the case of the Venom knife, also used for more demanding tasks, will be an additional factor increasing safety during their performance. The frame lock is equipped with a ceramic detent ball that guides the blade when opening and closing the knife without scratching the blade.
Titanium handle, pocket clip and backspacer
The handle is entirely made of light and extremely durable titanium. It is a hard metal, resistant to impact and mechanical damage, used in knives of the highest quality. It is resistant to corrosion. The covers have been screwed with stainless steel screws in a color consistent with the entire design. The knife is equipped with a titanium pocket clip, allowing for stable carrying in a pocket, mounting in a backpack, organizer, kidney, etc. The knife has titanium backspacer with a hole designed for threading an additional line, paracord, etc. Both the clip and the hole are elements that protect against possible knife loss. The hole can also be used to attach an additional ornament in the form of a knife bead etc. MK knife beads you can find HERE.
Pouch for the knife
Venom folding knife comes with a fabric pouch with the MK logo. The velcro closure cover is used to store or carry the knife, depending on the needs and preferences of the user.
