MS Knives Shark Knife Ironwood | Modestas Skirmantas is an original project initiated and executed by the Lithuanian knifemaker Modestas Skirmantas.

The project was born out of the need to have a knife with larger dimensions in the offer, which will be able to withstand harder work in the bosom of nature. Shark was designed for outdoor, bushcraft and survival applications. Shark can handle more demanding jobs, such as baring, chiselling, chopping smaller pieces of wood, etc.

MS Knives Shark Knife Ironwood | Modestas Skirmantas knife is made of premium steel: Elmax, has an ironwood handle, and a natural leather sheath to carry it. The whole thing looks very natural, which will be especially appreciated by people who like the more traditional style of knife making.

MS Knives Shark Knife Ironwood | Modestas Skirmantas is designed as a universal tool intended mainly for use in the field.

Premium steel as the core of the knife construction

Infinity is a knife with a full tang construction (made of one carefully selected piece of material) made of the highest quality Elmax steel (chrome-vanadium-molybdenum powder steel). Elmax is one of the few steels available on the market in the absolute top quality of materials used in the production of premium knives. The Elmax blade is extremely resistant to overload, remains sharp for a long time (wears very slowly) and has excellent anti-corrosion properties.

A universal blade for any challenge

The blade with a ridge of 4 mm thick, made in a drop point style, with a flat cut, ensures smooth cutting and performing various tasks (piercing, planing, preparing meals, etc.). The knife has a handguard, which, together with a finger undercut, protects against slipping of the hand on the cutting edge during work and improves the grip. On the top of the blade we will find jimping.

Robust ergonomic ironwood handle

The handles are made of ironwood. Irownwood name is used to describe various types of wood with very high hardness and density. It is a natural material, very durable and with beautiful colors, different for each piece. The linings were glued and screwed with sandblasted stainless steel screws. The screws are quite a characteristic detail of the knife, due to the original pattern on them.

The handle has a hole at its end, which is used to additionally protect the knife against loss with a rope, paracord, etc.

Elegant leather sheath

The Liberty knife comes with a leather sheath for carrying. The sheath is completely handmade from high-quality vegetable-tanned Italian leather. The stitches were made with thick threads with a massive stitch. The edges are nicely finished, smoothing them. The leather is black and has the MS Knives logo on its front. The sheath has a belt clip.

The model, along with its larger counterpart - This Is Freedom, belongs to the "Tales of Man" series (more about the series HERE) created to commemorate the extraordinary figures of bygone eras. In the presented version, Classic Freedom was made with a high flat grind and has jimping on the blade spine. The version with full flat grind with no jimping can be found HERE.
